由於康乃狄克大學(UConn)男籃目前的學業成長率(APR)不達標準，按照NCAA的規則，他們將被禁止參加明年(2013)的NCAA錦標賽。

今日，康大所屬賽區——大東區(Big East)的各成員校校長達成協定，倘若NCAA官方決定不對康大男籃 “ 網開一面 ” 的話，大東區也將禁止康大男籃參加下賽季的大東區錦標賽。

目前，康大男籃隊中的兩大樂透選秀股——後衛傑瑞米-蘭姆(Jeremy Lamb)和中鋒安德列-德拉蒙德(Andre Drummond)尚未決定是否參選。但顯然，球隊下個賽季無法打錦標賽的這個問題將會影響他們未來的選擇。

NCAA將在今後幾天內決定康大男籃於下個賽季的命運。若NCAA決定按規則對康大男籃進行處罰的話，那麼康大將是第一所因學業問題遭重罰的大賽區一流強校。

UConn faces Big East tourney ban

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Big East presidents have agreed on a policy that would bar Connecticut's men's basketball team from next season's conference tournament if the Huskies are disqualified from the 2013 NCAA tournament.
